A popular patisserie that often had a line of customers waiting to order. Loaves of bread were carreid out on a reguar basis -- even by those who operated nearby restaurants.

You may be wondering why this picture is included here.  Well, besides being the name of a town in the Loire Valley, bouree is a card game that I played quite a bit growing up in New Orleans.  It is especially popular in Southwest Louisiana.
An afternoon glass of wine at a bar/restaurant down the street for the chateau. The owner frequently made fun (in a nice way) of the way we pronounced the word "ham" in French (jambon)

An after-dinner picture of our friends from Pontlevoy.  We stayed at their house during our time there in 2015. On one of our last nights in France, they had us over for dinner.  Great food, conversation, wine and a very special tasting of an almost 40-year-old Cognac -- a stunning and truly memorable experience!

Flowers on the walk along the Loire River.
One of the fine restaurants in Montrichard located in the town square.  The escargot were quite different and delicious.
A intersection in downtown Montrichard.  On weekdays this location was quite busy.
On one weekend in Montrichard there were several parades and perfromances in the town center.  We asked but no one could tell us what the celebration was about.
